Nozzles are well-suited for accurate measurement of high velocities in non-viscous fluids. They are used in a wide range of applications, including air, water, steam, gas, chemical substances, and high-pressure / high-temperature processes. These provide exceptional long-term accuracy as they are not reliant on sharp edges that might wear or be damaged over time.
Bhavyam offers all flow elements under the BETFLOW range of products. Design & Engineering done as per Global Standards to meet challenging process demands. Manufacturing all flow metering solutions as per ISO 5167/ ASME MFC 3M/ ASME 19.5/ BS 1042/ AGA 3/ AGA 8/ RW Miller standards.

Frequently asked questions.
What is a flow nozzle and how is it different from an orifice plate?
A flow nozzle is a DP flow element with a smooth, contoured entrance that gradually accelerates the fluid into a cylindrical throat. Compared with the sharp-edged bore of an orifice plate, this smooth profile allows a flow nozzle to handle higher velocities and causes less erosion, making it well suited to severe service such as high-pressure steam.
When should a flow nozzle be used instead of an orifice plate?
A flow nozzle is preferred for high-velocity, high-temperature, or high-pressure steam and gas applications, where an orifice plate's sharp edge would erode quickly or where the flow velocity exceeds what an orifice plate can handle. It is commonly used in power plant steam and boiler feedwater service.
What materials are flow nozzles typically made from?
Flow nozzles are typically made from materials capable of withstanding high temperature and erosive conditions, such as stainless steel or alloy steel. Material selection depends on the operating temperature, pressure, and fluid composition.
